Apple the world's second largest information technology company has recently introduced a new operating system iOS 7 for it's mobile platform on June 10, 2013. The company claims it to be the world's most advance mobile operating system. The company has made the biggest change since the introduction of iOS in iPhones. iOS 7 has different user interface and introduced new features like Control Center, Notification Center, Air Drop, smarter multitasking and lot more.
User Interface
The user interface is completely rebuild, it's lot more simple and cleaner. The menus and icon design have been changed. Unnecessary bars and buttons have been removed. The interface focus more on user content.
Notification Center
Notification center is similar to the android's notification screen, which can be pulled down from the top displaying information about new mail, missed calls, calender notes alert and more. The Notification center can be accessed from any screen, including the Lock screen.
Control Center
Control center contain a bunch of useful setting keys such as Airplane mode, WiFi, Bluetooth, brightness, media control, Do not Disturb, AirPlay, AirDrop. And shortcuts to several apps including a built-in-flashlight, compass, calculator and camera. The Control center can be scrolled up from the bottom.
Multitasking
iOS 7 provides full multitasking for all apps and provide background updating of the apps at the same time. On pressing the home button twice the user can preview all running apps, just swipe it up out of the preview to quit the app.
Camera
The iOS 7 camera supports- still, video, panorama and square ( front and center) shooting formats and offers live photo filter like Mono, Tonal, Noir, Fade, Chrome, Process, Transfer and Instant. User can apply filters to still and square photos.
Photos
The OS interface provide a smart grouping of photos and videos based on time( up to each year collection) and place. And allows photos and videos sharing through iCloud.
AirDrop
AirDrop lets you quickly and easily share photos, videos, contacts and anything else from any apps with a Share button using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Just tap Share, then select the person to be shared with.
Siri
Siri gets a new look and new male voice including the female voice. It searches from more sources, such as Bing, Wikipedia, and Twitter. And can take calls, play voice mail, control iTunes Radio and more.
Music and iTune Radio
The music app integrates Apple's iTunes Radio service( streaming radio station). The iTune radio is available on iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac, PC and Apple TV for free.
iTune Radio is available only in U.S.
Safari
Buttons and bars stay hidden which give bigger browsing screen. Other changes include infinite tabs, parental controls, Twitter sharing and Reading list.
App Store
The App Store provide collection of popular app according to user current location. Also a new Kids category spotlights the best apps for children based on age. And provides automatic apps updates.
Find My iPhone
This new security features make it harder for anyone other than owner to sell the device. The owner can lock or erase their phone using their apple ID and password. It can display a custom message, even after the device is erased.
iOS 7 will be compatible iPhone 4, iPhone 4S ,iPhone 5, iPod touch 16 GB/32GB/ 64GB , iPad2, iPad with Retina display and iPad mini. The iOS 7 is expected to released to public later this year. The iOS 7 beta version has been released for registered developers in iOS developer program. which can be downloaded from https://developer.apple.com/ios7/ .
