In the ever emerging market of mobile world there is no limit for exploration and innovation. So now Firefox has come up with its new operating system for tablet computer and smartphones.
Firefox operating system project name ''Boot to Gecko" also known as B2G is Linux based open source operating system. It is compatible on all Android compatible smartphones and Raspberry pi (single board computer). The Firefox OS is compatible with smartphones like Nexus S,Nexus S 4G, Samsung Galaxy S II, Galaxy Nexus.
B2G 1.0 version has already been launched in February this year.

It features the world most famous apps and relevant content to suit the customers local need. It also provides easy monitoring of the data usage on network.The main agenda of the company is to come up with an OS that can run on a phone with a very low specifications and provide web facility to low level customers.The OS need just half of the phone memory as Android needs, so carriers can price a smartphone for well under $ 100, half the price of a low-end Android smartphone.
The first mobile phone running B2G will be launched in the first half of 2013. It will be first released in South America and than it will come later to Asian and European markets. The hardware Partners for the OS are the companies like Sony,LG, Huawei and ZTE(China). B2G is backed by some of the biggest names in the industry like qualcomm and alcatel onetouch.
The biggest thing is Firefox is an open platform giving a standard product in the value chain.
